Kirkpatrick Level II - Assessment

Here an example of a summative assessment aimed at evaluating the skills and knowledge acquired by students at the end of the e-learning course "How to correctly complete the new electronic register", administered at the Studio Italia school in Budapest. The assessment was obtained directly within the LMS chosen to administer the course, Talent LMS.

Learning outcomes: The aim of the course is to transmit to the participants both theoretical and practical skills, especially of an organizational nature. During the completion of the new electronic register, in fact, it is necessary to be able to indicate for each linguistic activity used in the teaching method at the language school, information such as the Language Learning Phase and the general topology of the activity. At the end of the course, in fact, learners will be able to correctly divide and index each activity done during the Italian language lessons.

Learning materials and activities: The teaching materials used in the course, most of which are also present in this portfolio, vary by theme and type. The topics covered mainly focus on specific aspects of language teaching (for example the difference between Language Learning and Language Acquisition, or between skimming and scanning), as well as a categorization of language skills and Phases of Language Learning.

Various materials were used to convey this content: original videos, handouts and infographics, podcasts and PDFs, supplementary materials found online.

Assessment: The proposed assessment was therefore obtained directly within Talent LMS (a valid tool, with some limitations regarding the freedom to create questions). However, the test consists of 16 questions of different types: multiple choice, fill the gap, ordering and drag-and-drop, which cover all the main concepts seen in the course. The quiz is considered passed when 80% of correct answers are reached.​
